Crib2toddler Store has created this blog in hopes that you will find information and ideas that will help answer some of the questions that arise as parents of babies and toddlers. It is our hope that we will be able to furnish information and web links that will help young and older parents find the answers to those questions that face them. My wife and I have been married for 57 years and have raised 5 children. If you ask me, it was easier raising our children that new parents in this day in which we live. We want to invite you to voice you opinion and share ideas or subjects that are facing you today. Let's share with each other and maybe we can learn to listen to each other and thereby help one another. I think that is a lot of the problems in the family today. Parents are so busy trying to make ends meet that it is hard for them to find time to just talk to each other. We need to get back to the time when we all sat around the table at meal time and shared conversation and listen to each other. It may surprise you what you kids have to say in a setting like this. Try it, for it may be the answer that you are looking for. I hope that this is helpful to someone.
Until later, Chet form Crib2toddler Store.

If I Could Be Anywhere I Would Not Be Here
ReplyDeleteIf I could be anywhere I would not be here.
I would be where everyone was nice and kind to each other.
I would be where nobody threw stones and nobody cried.
If I could be anywhere I would not be here.
I would be where no one was lonely and everyone had at least three friends.
I would be where no one would laugh when I made a mistake.
And no one comes in last, and everyone gets a prize just for trying.
If I could be anywhere I would not be here.
But I am here. So I will bring where I want to be to where I am.
I will find one that makes a mistake and encourage him to keep trying.
I will look for the lonely and say, "Can I sit with you?"
I will look for tears of hurt and sadness and offer my towel of peace and joy.
I will search for the heartless and give them part of mine.
These are beautiful words, but only words if we don't take time to sit and talk with one another. The world is offering empty dreams, with beautiful words, but we can offer our selves to each other in peaceful conversation. Let's talk to each other.
One of the great tragedies of this day in which we live is the amount of children that are abused and neglected. Thousands of children are in the foster care system through Child Protective Services because of neglect, abuse or abandonment. These little babies, toddlers and pre school as well as through high school deserve to have some one speak up for them and defend them. This is where CASA or Court Appointed Special Advocates come in. The CASA program is a special program that is most states across the USA which has a trained volunteer that represents the child before the court system and with medical and educational needs. I have had the privilege of serving in this capacity for the past 2 years and what a joy it is to see families brought back together or that special child adopted into a loving home where they are really wanted. You can be there for that needy child by contacting WWW.texascasa.org . Even if you are not from Texas, you can get information on how to locate the CASA office in the area where you live. Do IT and you will make some child feel loved.
ReplyDelete"The Children's Advococy Center helps minimize trauma to the youngest victims in our community. It provides the unique opportunity of using the collective resorces of law enforcement to aid abused and neglected children. We remember when there was no CASA and the great difficulty there was in multiple interviews by various agencies and the emotional impact this had on children. Today only one agency doe this , and in the process does not suvject children to having to relive trauma time and time again"

"Court Appointed Special Advocates, CASA, is singularty the most significant volunteer organization in society today because its volunteers preserve and protect the most helpless and defenseless or our precious children."
The Honorable Rick Morris

Training Community Volunteers: Specialized training is provided to community volunteers who wish to advocate for children through the court system. Once trained and sworn in, the volunteers accept a case in which a child has been removed from their home due to abuse or neglect. Their role is to be the child/children's voice in court and ensure that every child has a safe, loving and PERMANENT home.
